Remembering the Scientology Volunteer Ministers
It was three years ago that the devestation at Ground 0 New York happened. Friends of mine who were there with the Volunteer Ministers remember it as a turning point in their lives, where they re-dedicated themselves to helping others and to making a difference in society. If we were all to help one another we could establish peace in our lifetime.
Here's an interesting article about John Travolta at Ground Zero.
In New York City, John Travolta visited a fire station to pay his respects to the NY firefighters who have lived at the heart of the World Trade Center tragedy. Delighted to see the star of Welcome Back Kotter, Saturday Night Fever and Grease, the firemen explained they had to leave immediately due to a call. John solved that by asking if he could go along with them, and accompanied them to the fire call in the role of a Scientology Volunteer Minister.
After the call he invited them to a special Volunteer Minister meeting he was attending, and they did so, in full firemen gear—coats, boots and helmets smelling of smoke. They were given front row seats while John took the podium and thanked them on behalf of all those present for what they do.

Another article about Travolta at Ground Zero appeared in the Daily News.
Recently the New York Volunteer Ministers and all the other Scientologists who joined them after 9/11 were presented with NYFD's Medal of Valor, at the grand opening of the new Church of Scientology of New York.
John Travolta used to live in Santa Barbara, which is where I'm from. He's been a Scientologist for many years, and here are some more articles other web sites with what he says about our church:
