Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Kolkata India

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers India Goodwill Tour has been in Kolkata recently. This is an excerpt from a recent article on their web site of the work they are doing with street children in that city.

With over 4 million living in the slums of Kolkata, known in the West as Calcutta, widespread illiteracy is a barrier to these street-children gaining the skills they need to move out of the slums and into mainstream society. This is compounded by increasing rates of drug addiction among children as young as 8 years of age, many of whom turn to crime to support their habits.

The Volunteer Ministers start their work with these youth by providing "group processing," a technique developed by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1950s which can be run on large groups of people to help them increase their awareness and ability.

They then provide the basic tools, such as reading and writing, to help the children build their own successful lives, and to know that something CAN be done about it.

Street-children in Kolkata (Calcutta) enjoy the Scientology ''group processing'' provided by one of the members of the Scientology Volunteer Minister India Goodwill Tour.
